Pekin girls’ basketball
Tuesday, 12/3
Pekin 49, Wapello 42
The Panthers got off to a strong start against Wapello last Tuesday, Dec. 3 and held the lead at the end of each quarter before taking a 49-42 win.
Anna Hadley led the Panthers in scoring with 13, while Abby Guise had 11 and Renae Eubanks scored nine from behind the three-point line. Ezra Parsons and Maddy Petrehn each scored six, and Paislee Coleman put up four points.
Guise led the team in rebounding with12 while having three steals and three assists. Hadley pulled down nine rebounds, Eubanks had eight, and Colemand seven.

Pekin 52, WACO 45
Pekin faced off against WACO last Friday, Dec. 6. The Panthers held a one-point lead, 25-24, going into halftime, but an 18-point third quarter helped they secure a 52-43 win.
Abby Guise had a good game scoring 13 points while also pulling down 13 rebounds. Renae Eubanks put up 14 points, with 12 of those from behind the three-point line. Eubanks had eight rebounds in the game and four assists. Paislee Coleman added ten points while having six rebounds and three assists, while Anna Hadley had nine points and nine rebounds, and Maddy Petrehn put up six points and had five rebounds.

Tuesday, 12/3
Pekin 72, Wapello 42
Pekin thrashed Wapello last Tuesday, Dec. 3 to start the season off strong. The Panthers led 23-9 after one quarter, 41-19 at halftime and 56-33 after three periods.
Cole Millikin led the Panthers in scoring, putting up 24 points, including 6 baskets from behind the three-point line. Will Adam had 14 points and 5 rebounds, while Nolan Glick added 10 points. Henry Adam had six points and 12 assists, and Kasey Davis had seven points and four rebounds in the game. Riley Smith added five points, Alijah Brock four, and Leithyn Durflinger two.

Pekin 52, WACO 53
The Panthers and WACO played a tight, back and forth game last Friday, Dec. 6 before the Warriors took a one-point win, 53-52.
