Panther high school teams sweep Moravia meet

The Pekin cross country teams took part in the Moravia Cross-Country Invitational last Thursday, Sept. 26. Both high school teams won their event, with the boys’ team getting a perfect score of 15.
Cole Millikin won the boys’ race, finishing in 18:30.50. Mason Dahlstrom placed second with a time of 18:50.52, and Lane Fariss took third overall in 19:45.93. Sam Hall and Brody Sobaski finished sixth and seventh, respectively, in 20:40.27 and 20:45.24. Dylan Sobaski was the 10th runner to cross the finish line, finishing in 21:43.23; and Conor Cloyd was close behind in 11th with a time of 22:11.32. Hayden Miller finished 17th for the Panthers in 23:34.34, Clayton Harvey was 25th in 26:23.41, Liam Guise finished 26th in 26:30.33, and Wyatt Brown was 30th in 26:45.10.
Chloe Glosser won the girls’ race by over two minutes, with a time of 21:03.40. Abby Guise and Maddy Petrehn were next in for the Panthers in fifth and sixth, Guise finishing in 24:41.67 and Petrehn in 24:43.49. Finishing ninth, 10th and 11th was Callie Deutschle in 25:48.63, Brinley Phillips in 26:04.01, and Renae Eubanks in 26:18.42.
In the middle school races, Pekin’s girls’ team finished second with 23. Mya Glick was the top runner for Pekin, placing third in 11:26.07, while Stella Dickey was fifth in 12:00.30 and Zoe Heisdorffer was sixth in 12:00.96. Bekah Zirkle finished 11th in 15:00.10, Haven Hensley was 12th in 15:00.46, and Reagan Wise was 13th in 16:09.15.
In the boys’ middle school race, Pekin’s Landon Fariss placed second in 10:32.54 and Colton Harvey was seventh in 11:13.86.
