Panther track teams young, hopeful for season

Thirty-one girls make up the Lady Panther track team this spring.

This year’s squad is led by five girls that have state track meet experience, Lilly and Sabrina Reneker, Audrey Fariss, Lauren Steigleder, and Claire Roth. These five will be joined by senior Brooke Miller, some excellent juniors and sophomores, and a talented freshman class.

According to head coach Davis Eidahl, “The Lady Panthers will have experience, depth, and good leadership.”

The Panther boys’ team has twenty-eight members. They are led by junior JaeDon Wolver. JaeDon qualified for four events in last year’s state meet and is hoping to lead the boys to an improved season. Brady McWhirter, a state cross country participant, will be counted on heavily for many events.

“This year’s team has some young talent,” stated coach Eidahl. “When they get experience, they will help the Pekin team show great improvement.”

The Panther teams are coached by Davis Eidahl, Lisa Crabtree, Michelle Glosser, and Bill Bex.
