The Panthers had athletes competing in events at the State Track Meet on all three days.
Thursday, May 22, Chloe Glosser placed second in the 3000m race, and Anna Hadley earned sixth place in the shot put. Will Adam finished 12th in the long jump, and the boys’ 110m shuttle hurdle relay earned their spot in the final on Saturday.
The boys’ 4x800 relay had a 20th place finish, and the girls’ shuttle hurdle relay was disqualified.
On day two, Friday, May 23, Anna Hadley was crowned the champion in the Class 1A discus after breaking the state meet record. The boys’ 4x200 relay placed fifth, and the boys’ 4x400 relay finished 12th. Riley Smith took eighth in the 400m hurdles, Kayse Miller finished 14th in the high jump, and Paislee Coleman was 12th in the 100m hurdles. Kasey Davis qualified for the finals on Saturday in the 110m hurdles.
On Saturday, May 24, Pekin had two third place finishes with Chloe Glosser in the 1500m run and Tea Orgovanyi in the para 100m dash. The boys’ 110m shuttle hurdle team took sixth, while Kasey Davis finished eighth in the 110m hurdles. The boys’ 800m sprint medley had a 16th place finish.
Overall, the Pekin boys’ team finished tied for 31st with nine points, and the girls’ team tied for 10th with 27 points.
