Panthers run in Forest Park Festival

Pekin’s high school cross country teams traveled to St. Louis to compete in the Forest Park XC Festival held on Saturday, September 10.
The Pekin girls placed second in the small school class as a team, and had two runners finish in the top five in the race. For the Pekin boys’ team, they had one runner finish second and the team finished 17th.
In the girls’ race, Chloe Glosser had a fourth-place finish in 21:09.5 and Lauren Steigleder finished fifth in 21:30.1. Brooke Miller finished 21st in 22:50.5, with Audrey Fariss close behind finishing 22nd in 23:10.2. Brooke Sylvester finished 30th in 23:51.5. Renae Eubanks finished 43rd in 25:11.7. Lexi Swearingen was 45th in 25:21.3, while Teagan Swearingen finished 49th in 26:08.4.
In the boys’ small school race, Pekin’s Brady McWhirter placed second with a time of 18:10.0. Cole Millikin finished 61st in 20:34.6, and Ben Guise was 69th in 20:50.5. Dylan Sobaski finished 141st in 24:34.6, and Brayden Wages was 165th in 36:11.8
Panther boys at the races in St. Louis were Brady McWhirter, Cole Millikin, Ben Guise, Henry Eubanks, and Dylan Sobaski.
Running for the Pekin girls’ team were Audrey Fariss, Brooke Sylvester, Lauren Steigleder, Chloe Glosser, Lexi Swearingen, Teagan Swearingen, Renea Eubanks, and Brooke Miller.
