Patriotic Panthers 4-H Club meets

The Patriotic Panthers 4-H Club met on Dec. 14, 2022 at Prairie View MC starting with a family potluck supper. Seventeen members and their families were in attendance. Michelle Jacobs installed the 2022 — 2023 club officers. President — Kendyl Noel; Vice President — Kylee Reed; Secretary — Carley Clarahan; Treasurer — Cole Millikin; Reporter- Teagan Swearingen and Parliamentarian — Lexi Swearingen.

Club leader Sharon Fritchen welcomed first year 4-H members, Bentley Clark, Maci Crow, Eleanora Ferrell, Stephen Jacobs, Kylee Kier and Colten Voyles. The club also welcomes Ella Bruns, Gamble Fry and Madison Fry. The two nine-year Senior 4-H members recognized were Kendyl Noel and Kylee Reed.

Members receiving record book project awards and year seals at Awards Rally were: Sawyer Cason, Carley Clarahan, Erica Clubb, Sam Loper, Cole Millikin, Haylea Oostra, Colt Reed, Conner S. Reed, Kylee Reed, Iris Steinhart, Lexi Swearingen, and Teagan Swearingen. Receiving their year seals were Ethen Echelberry, Izaak Echelberry, Anna Hadley, John Jacobs, Michelle Jacobs and Kendyl Noel. The outstanding Intermediate award was presented to Carley Clarahan and the Expo Beef Herdsmanship award was presented to Kylee Reed. The Patriotic Panthers 4-H Club received the first place 2022 Communications award presented by the Keokuk County Farm Bureau.

Business discussed was the Keokuk County Expo 4-H/FFA Fair dates are July 9-16, 2023; swine weigh in date of March 25, 2023, sheep and meat goat weigh in date of May 6, 2023, and YQCA testing.

The next meeting will be Jan. 11, 2023 at 7 p.m. at Prairie View MC.
