Pekin and Fairfield students have art on display in Fairfield Arts & Convention Center

The Fairfield Art Association announces Student Art Exhibits by talented local and area youth on display in the Fairfield Arts & Convention Center, opening Friday, April 5. There will be an opening reception from 6 — 8 p.m., free and open to the public.
The 2024 FHS Art Show will be on display during the month of April in the Main Gallery with approximately 100 pieces of art, from a variety of classes. There will be a wide range of mediums to view, including; charcoal, acrylic, watercolor, colored pencil, clay, and ink. FHS Art instructor David Kraemer invites parents, friends and family to "please come and see the outstanding works created by our FHS art students." The FAA has hosted FHS and Fairfield Community School District art exhibits for 57 years.
In the Hallway Gallery, Pekin Community School's art instructor Matt Guise will showcase 19 pieces by 7th, 9th, and 12th-graders. These works include the mediums of gouache, watercolor, soft pastel, linocut, clay and colored pencil. Matt Guise currently serves on the FAA board and instructs a 2X a month youth class.
The FAA Sales Gallery will also be open on this "First Friday" evening, and has been updated with new art works as well as reorganizing some of the old favorites. Check there for information about "Open Studio" times and new upcoming art classes.
