Pekin fifth and sixth graders create their own balloon floats
Pekin’s fifth and sixth graders read the book “Balloons over Broadway” recently, an inspirational story of the puppeteer that invented the giant balloons that float in the sky during the annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade. The students then broke into teams of three and worked through the engineering design process to create floats of their own. They even got to parade them through the elementary school!
