Grace Phillips is a Pekin graduate in the spotlight. She is the daughter of Shawn and Jody Phillips and has one sister, Emma.
While Grace was in school, she was involved in volleyball; basketball manager; track and field; Family, Career and Community Leaders of America; Iowa Students for Tobacco Education and Prevention; Future Business Leaders of America; quiz bowl; yearbook; National Honor Society; Spanish Club; Ruritan Rising Senior; chorus; and TAG. She has also worked at the Pekin Child Care Center and Greiner Real Estate & Auction.
What's your favorite school memory/OR what will you remember the most? Track season with Anna and Haylea.
If you could go back and change one thing, what would it be? I’d focus more on being present and enjoying the "lasts" instead of getting too caught up in future plans.

What's the best and/or worst thing about being a senior? The best thing is getting to graduate. The worst thing is leaving your friends behind.
Which teacher or staff member had the biggest impact on you and why? Mr. Hoffmann because he is kind and cares about all of his students.
What’s your advice to incoming high school freshmen? Stay out of drama and don’t stress about things you can’t control.
What are your plans after graduation? Attend the University of Iowa and pursue a degree in Elementary Education.
What is one outrageous thing you want to try in your lifetime? Scuba Diving
If you could move anywhere in the world, where would you go and why? Swiss Alps because they’re pretty.
Who has been your biggest influence and why? My mom, dad, grandma, and grandpa because they work so hard for me to be able to live the life I live.
