Pekin senior Alisia Brock
May. 23, 2024 4:22 pm
Alisia Brock is in the spotlight this week. She is the daughter of Alanna Brock and granddaughter of Linda Brock. She has two little brothers, Alijah and Aliyas.
Throughout high school Alisia was involved in volleyball, cheerleading, softball, track, soccer, speech, theater & drama, band, choir, FCCLA, FCA, National Honor Society, Talented and Gifted, Quiz bowl, iStep, and Ruritans Rising Seniors. She was a cook at Peck's Pub her junior year and worked as a cashier at Walmart last summer.
What's your favorite school memory/OR what will you remember the most? My absolute favorite memory is participating in Pekin's production of the musical Beauty and the Beast. I played Babette, the feather duster.
If you could go back and change one thing, what would it be? I would participate in theater sooner.
Finish this sentence: "I could not live without..." Ranch.
What's the best and/or worst thing about being a senior? The best part is reflecting on memories and the worst part is parting from the people I have grown to love being around.
Which teacher or staff member has had the biggest impact on you and why? Throughout high school, Mrs. Bates, Mrs. Wittrock, and Kitz (Mrs. Boatman) have all been special to me. Bates is like my school mom, Mrs. Wittrock gives great advice and the best hugs, and Kitz taught me the importance of perseverance and gave me a whole new outlook on learning. I love them all dearly and I wouldn't be the student I am without them.
Advice to incoming high school freshmen: Respect everyone, get involved, and have no regrets. Live in the present but plan for the future!
What are your plans after graduation? I will be attending the University of Iowa to double major in Political Science and Pre-Law.
What is one outrageous thing you want to try in your lifetime? I want to go sky diving.
If you could move anywhere in the world, where would you go AND why? I would move to Greece and live in Athens.
