Pekin senior Kyli Fitzsimmons

Kyli Fitzsimmons is a 2023 Pekin senior. She is the daughter of Kari Fitzsimmons and Tex Fitzsimmons. Her siblings are Aaron and Meghan Fitzsimmons.

While in school Kyli was involved in Volleyball, Softball, Track and FCA. She also worked as a hostess at Applebee’s.

What’s your favorite school memory and why or what will you remember the most? My favorite high school memory would be going to football and basketball games and also playing volleyball.

If you could go back and change one thing, what would it be? If I could change one thing, I would stand up for myself more than I did throughout middle and high school.

What's the best and/or worst thing about being a senior? Worst thing is having to wait forever for graduation, best thing is the activities.

Which teacher or staff member has had the biggest impact on you and why? Mrs. Wittrock because she always helps out and knows everyone’s strengths and weaknesses.

What advice do you have for incoming high school freshmen? My advice would be to go to school dances even if you don’t feel like it or if you don’t have anyone to go with, you will regret it if you don’t.

What are your plans after graduation? My plans are to attend Hawkeye Community College and go into Elementary Education, after I’m finished there I will transfer to another school to finish my degree but am undecided on where at the moment.

What is one outrageous thing you want to try in your lifetime? I would want to go parasailing.

If you could move anywhere in the world, where would you go and why? I want to move to either Southern Georgia or Southern Alabama because it’s only a few minutes to an hour away from a beach, but it’s not going to be where the tropical storms hit the hardest.

Who has been your biggest influence in your life and why? My biggest influence is probably my sister Meghan because she is funny, outgoing and good at managing her money.
