Pekin senior Lauren Conklin

The spotlight is on Pekin senior Lauren Conklin this week. She is the daughter of Lisa and Chris Conklin. Her siblings are Shaniece Guill and Logan Conklin.
While in school, she has been involved in choir, honor choir, track, volleyball, club volleyball, NHS, FCCLA, FCA, FBLA, FFA, and mentoring. Outside of school, she has been a Walmart associate.
What’s your favorite school memory/OR what will you remember the most: I will always remember seeing Davis Eidahl do pushups.
If you could go back and change one thing, what would it be: Being in more clubs, sports, or musical activities.
Finish this sentence: “I could not live without…” My faith.
What’s the best and/or worst thing about being a senior: The best thing would be the flexibility. The worst thing is we can’t leave when we have study halls because they used to be able to and as a younger classman, I always looked forward to being able to leave early.
Which teacher or staff member has had the biggest impact on you and why: Mrs. Wittrock has been the biggest impact because of her empathy, kindness, and willingness to adapt with students.
Advice to incoming high school freshmen: Do absolutely everything you can and take college classes.
What are your plans after graduation: I will be going to Indian Hills to get my RN certification to then become a nursing missionary. When I finish my missionary journey I hope to become a Pediatric nurse practitioner.
What is one outrageous thing you want to try in your lifetime: Skydiving.
If you could move anywhere in the world, where would you go AND why: Anywhere near family that is warm because I do not like the cold, but I love my family.
Who has been your biggest influence AND why: My dad, he is such a strong worker that does it all through his faith. I hope to help people and spread my faith through my personality.
