Tuesday, May 30
Hillcrest Academy 13, Pekin 6
Hillcrest Academy led by just one 4-3 after the first inning of action on Tuesday.
The Ravens went on to score seven between the fourth and fifth innings to take a hold of the game.
For the Ravens, Delaney Shaw led with three hits and two RBIs in the game. Lydia Beachy went 2-for-3 with fourth RBIs.
Kylee Statler, Morgyn Nafziger and Erin Bontrager all had an RBI as well.
Hillcrest Academy is now 2-1, while Pekin drops to 0-4.
Thursday, June 1
Lone Tree 10, Pekin 0
The Panthers had trouble in a SEISC North road game. Pekin collected just four hits on the day.
Quinnlyn Baker, Payten Coleman, Sadie Sieren and Katelynn Shultz all had singles in the loss.
Friday, June 2
Louisa-Muscatine 14, Pekin 2 (4)
A pair of second-inning runs were all the Panthers could muster in a road loss to L & M.
Payten Coleman went 1-for-2 with a double and an RBI in the loss. Anna Hadley was 1-for-2 with a double.
Monday, June 5
Van Buren County 11, Pekin 1
Van Buren County led Pekin 7-0 after two innings of action in the first of a doubleheader on Monday night.
The Panthers scored one in the bottom of the third, but that’s all they could bring home.
The Warriors scored a pair in both the fourth and fifth innings to seal it.
Kylee Roan led Van Buren County with three hits and two RBIs in the win.
Ashlynn Huff, Callie Kracht, Annabelle Cormier, Ivy Davison and Lexie Wiley all had one hit. Cormier and Huff all had two RBIs as well. Shae Batten, Kracht and Davison each had one RBI.
For Pekin, Paislee Coleman had two hits. Payten Coleman and Myah Bainbridge each had one hit. Bainbridge had one RBI on a home run.
Van Buren County 12, Pekin 0
In game two, Van Buren County scored four in the first, two in the second and six in the third for its second win over Pekin.
Ashlynn Huff had three hits and one RBI for Van Buren County.
Callie Kracht had two RBIs on two hits. Annabelle Cormier, Ivy Davison and Sophia Jirak all had two RBIs a piece.
Riley Cavaness finished with a pair of hits and one RBI.
Thursday, June 8
Wapello 16, Pekin 4
Pekin trailed Wapello just one, 3-2 after the first inning, but the Arrows scored nine runs in the next three innings to pull away with the win.
Payten Coleman, Alex Parsons and Kendyl Noel all had two hits a piece in the loss.
Friday, June 9
Winfield-Mt. Union 20, Pekin 11
Pekin led Winfield-Mt. Union 9-5 after the first inning on Tuesday.
After four, the Panthers led 11-8. WMU finished strong with 12 runs in the final three innings.
For WMU, Anna Anderson had four hits and three RBIs. Quin Smith finished with three hits and three RBIs. Kellee Milks had three RBIs with one hit as well. Katie Miller and Emily Weiskircher each had two RBIs as well.
Smith took the victory in the circle with 11 runs given up on nine hits, eight walks and three strikeouts.
For Pekin, Myah Bainbridge had three hits and an RBI. Quinnlyn Baker, Alex Parsons and Kendyl Noel had two hits. Noel ended with three RBIs as well.
