The Washington County Extension Office, 4-H Project Superintendents, and the County Council are sponsoring Prepare for Fair, a new member event for 4-H members and parents/guardians on Thursday, June 19 from 6:30-8:00 p.m. The evening will start in Dallmeyer Hall on the fairgrounds.
This informative workshop is designed to provide information about and answer questions about the upcoming Washington County Fair. This will include an exploration of various project areas, exhibit forms, a tour of the fairgrounds, practice fair entry, and a chance to meet different project superintendents. It is open to all 4-H’ers, but will be most beneficial to those in 4-H three years or less. Parents are strongly encouraged to attend.
This is an excellent time for youth and parents to meet 4-H mentors and also learn about 4-H opportunities at the Washington County Fair and how to prepare at home for many project areas. Participants are encourage to bring questions and excitement to learn more.
Register to attend by June 10 at https://tinyurl.com/PrepareForFair25. For more information on Washington County 4-H, contact the Washington County Extension Office at 319-653-4811. Follow “Washington County 4-H — Iowa” on Facebook for current information on 4-H activities across the county.
