Apr. 20, 2023 8:23 pm
Washington County 4-H/FFA members weighed-in production swine projects on Saturday, April 15 for the 2023 Washington County Fair marking the official start date of their project.
Twenty-two 4-H members weighed in 137 gilts and barrows were weighed in for the production classes and 27 additional barrows were weighed for the single source commercial swine class.
4-H members with these market pigs must identify these animals in 4hOnline by May 15. Any additional market pigs or breeding swine need to be entered into 4hOnline accounts by May 15 as well. Staff at the Extension Office can assist with this important if needed.
Thank you to swine department volunteers Ben, Casey, Payton, Blake, and Nickolas Peck, Jason Anderson, Jayme Sieren, Dean Sieren, and Chris Heisdorffer who assisted with the weigh-in. Sieren Swine Farms/Dean Sieren of Keota coordinates pigs for the single source swine class.
