May. 16, 2024 12:18 pm
Summer is just around the corner, so head on over to the Richland Public Library and sign up for our summer library program! This year’s program, “ Read, Renew, Repeat” will run from June 4, 2024 through July 30, 2024 and will include activities for the entire family. Registration starts at the library on Tuesday, May 28, 2024.
Our children’s Eco-Adventurer’s program will be led by Gabi Kates and Melody Rehm on Tuesdays from 1 — 2 p.m. and is geared toward children entering kindergarten through fifth grade. This summer’s activities will include games, stories, arts & crafts and special guest visitors including Absolute Science’s “Fantastic Foam & More” show on Tuesday, June 4 and Dr. Michael Bechtel from Wartburg College and his menagerie of wild animals from 1:00-2:00 on Friday, June 7.
This summer we’ll be introducing our Eco-Tots program geared toward children two to five years old on Wednesdays from 3 to 3:30 p.m. We’ll learn songs and rhymes and have fun playing games. Please register by May 31 as class size will be limited.
All ages are invited to drop in between 3 and 5 p.m. on Thursdays to participate in our Lego & Games club. We’ll have building materials such as Lego and Duplo blocks, Magna-tiles, and marble runs as well as a large variety of puzzles, board games, coloring books and arts & crafts materials.
On Teen Fridays middle school and high school students are invited to join us for activities including cooking, games, reading challenges and just plain hanging out with friends.
We will include reading challenges and contests for all ages, including adults, to participate in. Children who participate will earn prizes as they advance through their reading goals and will earn a reading medal once they complete their entire reading log. Adults can submit coupons for our prize drawings for each library book they read.
