Richland Library programs keeping kids busy
Jul. 14, 2022 4:38 pm
The Richland Public Library's June 28 program was all about dirt and earthworms Melody Rehm led the program which included the book "Up in the Garden and Down in the Dirt" by Kate Messner and a messy but fun snack made of dirt (chocolate pudding and crushed Oreos) and worms (gummy worms, of course!) To celebrate the Fourth of July, the children made flag banners to take home.
Lego Time at the Library!
Show off your building skills at the library on Lego Wednesdays! Lego enthusiasts can drop in anytime between 3:00 and 5 p.m. on Wednesdays (through July 20) to accept the weekly Lego challenge or build their own creation. The challenge on June 29 was building the tallest possible, sturdy, free-standing tower.
Emily Belvel brings fun activities to the Richland Public Library
Emily Belvel, program coordinator at the Keokuk County Extension and Outreach, presented a crafty farm-themed program to the Richland Public Library on Tuesday, July 5th. Participants had fun turning coffee K-cups into pigs, cows and chickens. They then planted seeds in cups to take home and grow. We’re guessing there are a lot of “green thumbs” in this group! The best part of the program for those with lots of extra energy was building mini-marshmallow launchers out of paper towel tubes and balloons and seeing how far their marshmallow could fly!
