Simmons named Richland librarian

Michelle Simmons has been named as the new librarian at the Richland Public Library. Michelle started her position on May 6, 2025.

Michelle lives in Washinton, Iowa with her husband, Bill. They have two sons and two grandsons with whom she likes to spend time. Michelle enjoys fishing, going to sporting events, watching movies and the Iowa Hawkeyes, plus cheering for her favorite team, the Miami Dolphins.

Previously Michelle worked for the Washington Public School system and for Discover credit cards.

After serving for almost two months in the Richland library, Michelle commented, “I have really enjoyed meeting everyone and appreciate all the kindness I’ve been shown.”
