In the spotlight this week is Pekin graduate Sophia Emehiser. She is the daughter of Leanna Denison and Brett Emehiser. Her siblings are Zoey Denison, Robert Denison, Abel Denison, Ava Denison, Ilo Emehiser, Walter Emehiser, and Meghan Rounceville.
While in school she was involved in Iron Chef, band, choir, and yearbook. She also worked at Warehouse Barbecue.
What’s your favorite school memory or what will you remember the most? Spilling hot gossip with Mr. Mohs in dens junior year.
If you could go back and change one thing, what would it be? I wouldn't compare myself with other people so much.
Finish this sentence: “I could not live without …” Chocolate.
What’s the best and/or worst thing about being a senior? It's the best because you don't have to do much but it's the worst for the same reason.
Which teacher or staff member has had the biggest impact on you and why? Mrs. Brown, she was always kind to everybody no matter what, and helped me come out of my shell a lot.
What’s your advice to incoming high school freshmen? Take the educational part of high school seriously and the social part less seriously. Don't worry what people think of you, they are more worried about what you think of them.
What are your plans after graduation? Work/travel.
What is one outrageous thing you want to try in your lifetime? Sky diving.
If you could move anywhere in the world, where would you go and why? Santorini Greece because it's so pretty.
Who has been your biggest influence in your life and why? My mom, she's pretty cool.
