Summer Fun at the Richland Public Library
May. 11, 2023 9:56 am
If you’re looking for awesome activities to fill your summer, then head on over to the Richland Public Library and sign up for our summer library program! This year’s theme, Find Your Voice, will let you discover your own voice through arts & crafts, stories, and learning. These programs will run from Tuesday, June 6, 2023 through Tuesday, July 25, 2023 and will include activities for the entire family. Registration starts Tuesday, May 30.
The children’s programs will be held on Tuesdays from 1-2 p.m. and are geared to children entering kindergarten through 5th grade. Younger children may attend if they are accompanied by a caregiver. This summer’s activities will include games, stories, arts & crafts and visits from live animals!
All ages are invited to participate in our “Legos & Building” club. Drop in anytime between 3-5 p.m. on Wednesday afternoons and see what you can build. We’ll have Legos, Magna-Tiles, Lincoln Logs and more available to build with. We’ll be sure to display the best creations in the library!
Teens are invited to our Amazing Voices program on Thursdays from 3-4 p.m. This program is geared toward teens entering 6th grade through high school. Some activities will include tie-dyeing T-shirts, a pool and pizza party, games, arts & crafts and lots of great snacks!
Adults can cash in on their reading by entering one coupon per library book read into our prize drawings. Prizes will include gift cards from Federation Bank, Gas & Goodies, Hy-Vee, and Walmart.
We’ll continue our incentive reading program so children can earn prizes for reading. The more time they spending reading, the more prizes they earn! Studies show that children who read over the summer maintain their reading skills and are better prepared to start their next school year in the fall.
The summer reading programs are made possible by our generous sponsors. Please be sure to thank them! Our growing list includes Davis and Sandy Eidahl, Federation Bank, Gas & Goodies, Greiner Real Estate and Auction, Hinshaw Trailers, Hy-Vee, Jeff and Jeannie Pedrick, Jefferson County Hospitals and Clinics (Richland Clinic), Panama Transfer, Pizza Ranch, Sines Plumbing and Heating, and Walmart.
