Taylor Nicole Sylvester is a Pekin graduate in the spotlight this week. She is the daughter of Brad and Debbie Sylvester. She has three siblings, Sydney (11th), Brooke (9th), Alyssa (7th)
Q: What school activities or clubs were you involved in and/or where did you work while in school?
A: Basketball, track, cross country, track manager, FFA, FCA, FCCLA, Spanish Club, Diversity Club, Legacy Youth Alliance, Rising Ruritans, Speech
Q: What’s your advice to underclassmen?
A: Work hard in school but still have fun, it goes by fast!
Q: What’s your favorite school memory?
A: TPing teachers’ houses after the last home football game this year
Q: What are three words you would use to describe yourself?
A: Outgoing, driven, and creative
Q: What’s your favorite quote or saying?
A: “I would like to be remembered as someone who used whatever talent she had to do her work to the very best of her ability.” -Ruth Bader Ginsburg
Q: What are your plans after graduation?
A: Attend Southern Methodist University to pursue a degree in law
Q: If you could travel anywhere, where would you go and why?
A: Italy; to admire the beauty of the land, eat authentic food, and to learn my family’s past
Q: If you could meet anyone from the past or present, who would it be and why?
A: My great-grandma Marjorie Streeby. I never got the chance to meet her, but my mom and grandma always tell me how wonderful she was.
Q: Who has been your biggest influence and why?
A: My parents and grandparents; they’ve all been incredibly supportive and always pushed me to reach my fullest potential
