Washington County Master Gardeners will hold their annual fundraiser plant sale on Saturday, May 10, at the Washington County Fairgrounds from 8 — 11 a.m., or until sold out. The plant sale will be held at the Round Red Barn (known officially as the historic Palmer Polygonal Barn).
“We’ll have many plants for sale, all at bargain prices — perennials including hostas, ferns, columbines, iris, sedums, daylilies, daisies, cone flowers, asters, grasses, bulbs, and hanging baskets too. Also, some vegetable seedlings, herbs, and houseplants,” said Vivian Rothe, Master Gardener president.
The plants are donated by the local Master Gardeners from their own gardens, which overflow from year to year with their many favorite plants.
Proceeds from the sale are used for an annual horticulture student scholarship and nonprofit garden projects, including maintaining the flower beds at the county fairgrounds.
Master Gardeners will be available during the plant sale to answer your gardening questions.
For more information about the plant sale or the Master Gardener program contact Andy Miller at the Washington County Extension office at 319-653-4811.
