Washington County Master Gardeners announce spring programs and events

The Washington County Master Gardeners are excited to share a lineup of engaging and educational events this spring. Mark your calendars for these opportunities to learn, grow, and connect with fellow gardening enthusiasts.
On Feb. 23 at 1 p.m., Lisa Nunamaker will be at the Washington County Extension Office to present "Planting Design 101." Please preregister at https://go.iastate.edu/4CFALU or call 319-653-4811.
On Feb. 25, join us for a Seed Planting Workshop at 2 p.m. at the Washington Public Library. This event will help you discover the basics of seed planting and get a head start on your garden this year.
On March 25 at 6:30 p.m., Allen Brush will present "What Vegetable to Grow" at the Washington County Extension Office. Learn how to select the best vegetables for your garden, with expert tips on growing and harvesting.
On April 22 at 6 p.m., Becky Lee, an Iowa DNR Forester, will lead a Tree Talk at 2282 275th St., Washington, Iowa. Gain valuable insights into tree care and management from a forestry professional.
On May 27 at 6:30 p.m., join us at the Washington County Extension Office for Flower Arrangements by the Master Gardeners. We ask attendees to bring their own vase and flowers or greens if they have them. If not, materials will be available on-site for a $10.00 charge. This creative evening will focus on crafting beautiful flower arrangements.
The Annual Plant Sale will take place on May 10 at the historic Round Barn at the Fairgrounds. Doors open at 8 a.m., and plants sell out quickly, so arrive early to grab a wide variety of plants to kick-start your gardening season.
