Winners of the 2024 Richland Public Library Winter Reading Challenge

Richland Public Library’s Winter Reading Challenge, which ran from Dec. 21, 2023 through Jan. 31, 2024, has concluded. Many thanks to our wonderful sponsor, Everybody’s Whole Foods in Fairfield, and to all our patrons who participated in this year’s winter challenge.

The purpose of the Winter Reading Program is to encourage patrons of all ages to read. Children from birth through middle school could participate in one of three categories: “Read-to-Me” for pre-readers, “Beginning to Read” for emergent readers and “Chapter Books” for proficient readers. Children who completed their reading logs received a mug with hot chocolate mix, candy canes and a toy.

High school and adult participants received a coupon for every library book they read. The coupons were entered into a drawing to win a $25 gift card from Everybody’s Whole Foods. This year’s winners were Abigayle Sinn, Tiffany Vanbrocklin, Barbara Withrow and Mary Bishop.
