Pekin graduate Xavier Lucas is in the spotlight this week. He is the son of Darcy Keasling, Danny Keasling, and Matther Lucas. His siblings include Hannah Lucas, Noah Lucas, Erin McKim, Kilea Keasling, and Tamara Crowe.
While in school he also worked at FCA Vision AG.
What’s your favorite school memory or what will you remember the most? Building bonds with all my classmates. I am very thankful for the friend group I was given.
If you could go back and change one thing, what would it be? Make school more of a priority. I spent all my high school years worried about making money. I wish I had valued my time here more, I’m going to spend my whole life working. Should have taken the advice Christy gave me…
Finish this sentence: “I could not live without…” My peers. My friends and teachers have definitely been my rock. I couldn’t have done it without them :)
What’s the best and/or worst thing about being a senior? Best thing is I can finally work full time lol. Worst thing is that it’s actually over.
Which teacher or staff member has had the biggest impact on you and why? Christy Gambell. She never gave up on me. I have ran her through a storm and she has only offered me help. I really appreciate her and give her the credit to my success.
What’s your advice to incoming high school freshmen? You only get four years of high school. Don’t take this time for granted. Though school might seem like a waste of time, it really does go by too fast. Spend this time building memories with your teachers and friends.
What are your plans after graduation? I plan to work and to buy a shop.
What is one outrageous thing you want to try in your lifetime? Climbing a mountain. I would love to test my abilities.
If you could move anywhere in the world, where would you go and why? Anywhere if it’s with the people I love.
Who has been your biggest influence in your life and why? I’m going to have to say my dad. He has shown me what being a man is supposed to be. I wouldn’t be here without his guidance. Everything I am skillful in, is because he taught me. If you are reading this, thank you Dad :)
Any additional comments? If you ever need someone to straighten you out, talk to Christy Gambell HAHA.
