Eicher Mennonite Church announced a new Pastor — the Rev. Herb Yoder.

Wayland and Olds Fire Departments battled a large field fire north of the S curves east of Wayland. It’s estimated 25 acres were burned. The same day, fire departments from Wayland, Olds, and Washington battled a barn and field and timber fire north and west of Wayland.
1995
A card shower was held for Kenneth and Cecile (Redlinger) Graber honoring their 50th wedding anniversary on March 21.
Renae Roth received her BS Degree in Telecommunications Management from DeVry Institute of Technology, Kansas City, Missouri.

WACO students Stephanie Coble, Tim Messer, Mark Coble, Janine Farley, Becky Parter, Karma Roth, Tina Howard, Amy Unkrich, and Julie Tolander will participate in State Speech March 23.
Break-ins are being investigated at WACO High School, Olds, R&M Welding in Wayland and theft of radios from WACO school buses parked at Schlatter’s garage.

WACO marching band and concert band students got new uniforms.
Mr. and Mrs. Edward Schantz were honored for their 60th wedding anniversary.
Mel Clark completed the 1980 Master Mix Sales Training conference.
1975
Roth Hardware Store was broken into. Seven rifles and ammo were taken. The Shell Station was also entered the same night, with cigarettes and lighters taken.
Debra Lynne Molander and Thomas Michael Conne were married Feb. 21, 1975.
1965
Sandra Payne suffered a slight concussion when the car she was riding in went into a ditch south of Sugar Creek Church.
