An open house was held May 20 and 21 at the Way-May Apartments.
City employees Dick Chorpening and Barry Leichty put up a new sign at the Wayland City Hall. The sign was made by Ed Baker of Country Oaks and lettered by Anita Swartzendruber. Mayor Johenry Mast made the wooden knobs for the top of the posts.

WACO has awarded a contract for construction of four classrooms adjacent to the new high school at Wayland.

Dallas and Wanda Miller were honored with an early celebration for their 50th wedding anniversary.

Jim Boshart, postal clerk with Wayland Post Office, retired after serving 16 years at the local post office. Edwin Stauffer will now hold the position.
Pvt. Joe Corman completed basic training at Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri.
