Harold and Lela Miller of Wayland celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary with their family at Jerry’s Restaurant in Mt. Pleasant. They were married June 10, 1945.
Alicia Lemon of Wayland has been named to the President’s List at William Penn University for the 2010 spring semester.

A bridal shower was held for Michelle Reid, bride-elect of Tim Meyer, at the Wayland Mennonite Church on May 28.

Jodi Elissa Messer graduated with magna cum laude honors from Coe College in Cedar Rapids. Messer will begin a PhD program in economics at Michigan State University in the fall.
Mr. and Mrs. Harold Miller celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on June 10.
Kay L. (Freyenberger) Frunzi received her PhD from the University of Colorado.
Brenda Lee Heisner received a degree in psychology from Coe College.
Troy Dean Eichelberger graduated from Coe College with a double major in business administration and political science.

1985
Fire caused damage to a trailer owned by Dick and Robin Simmons in Trenton.
Cameron Russell was born to Patrick and Vicki Garrett on June 1 in Mt. Pleasant.
Two people received minor injuries in a two-car accident three miles southwest of Wayland on May 29. Cars driven by Elizabeth Johnson, Washington, and Ben Campbell, Wayland came over the crest of a steep hill and collided. Natasha McKune, passenger in the Johnson vehicle and Ms. Johnson were taken to Henry County by ambulance to Washington County Hospital.
