•Cindy Freyenberger, daughter of Gerald and Mary Jo Freyenberger of Wayland, has been elected at 1993 Bluffton College Homecoming junior attendant.
•Wayland Brownie Troop 232 will be on the Paula Sands Show, Channel 6, on Monday, October 18.
•Adaline Tschantz received her 50 year pin in recognition as a member of the Order of Eastern Star at a reception held October 9.
1998
•Tammy Hesser and John Sybil, both of Wayland, were united in marriage on August 15, 1998.
•Mike and Maria Roth are parents of a son, Jackson David, born October 19, 1998.
•Those helping Emma Manning celebrate her 91st birthday by taking cake and ice cream to her home were Delores and Dwain Mann, Lyle and Judy Manning, Pete and Ann Lowe, and Evelyn Vinton and Opal Wiggins.

•Larry Richard, 52, died as a result of a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of 120th Street and Benton Avenue near Wayland.
•Karole Miller, Wayland City Clerk, has been accepted into the Second Level Membership of the HMC Master Municipal Clerk Academy.
•Rachel Wyse, Max and Berniece Roth, and Dale and Pud Swartzendruber attended the Virgil Graber funeral in Elkhart, Indiana.
2008
•Roy D. Miller of Wayland died suddenly October 10, 2008, at the Washington County Hospital.
•The WACO Warriors football team defeated Danville, 77-24, on Friday, October 10. Tad Morrow led WACO, rushing 16 times for 367 yards and four touchdowns.
2013
•Joan Rich and David Rodgers were married October 20, 1973, at the Wayland Methodist Church. They will be celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary.
•Eli Donald Yoder was born May 30, 2013 to Russell and Becky Yoder of Wayland. He is welcomed home by two brothers and two sisters.
•WACO won, 34-8, over WMU in football.
