•The new Wayland City hall has opened for business at 218 W. Main, Wayland.
•Wayland Area Antique Tractor Club will have a plowing demonstration Oct. 30 at the Myron Hoylman farm.
•Baptismal services were held at the Wayland Mennonite Church October 24. Those who were received into membership of the church by baptism were Amy Meyer, Lois Graber, Tyler Brooks, Chad McClanahan, and Kurt Kauffman.

•Laura Lindeen and Dean Craig were married Aug. 29 in Swedesburg.
•Darrell Borchardt opened a new business office for OMNI Division of Heartland Card Services in the Yoder Hatchery building offices.
•Mindy Grothe and Tony Renken have announced their June 19, 1994 wedding plans.
2003
•The WACO High School drama department will present the fall play, “Get Smart.”
•Harold H. Lynn, age 90, of Brighton, died unexpectedly October 24.
•Greg Rich and Kevin Fort are running for Wayland City Council.
2008
•Madison Roth will be representing WACO in the state high school cross country meet.
• Dr. John Garber and his wife, Lynne, visited for a week recently with his mother, Lois Graber of Parkview Home and with sister Marilyn of Wayland.
•Bob and Karen Meyer of Wayland are grandparents to a granddaughter, Olivia Grace. Born September 12, 2008, she is the daughter of Brian and Andrea Meyer of Riverside. Great-grandparents include Dean and Doris Meyer of Wayland.
2013
•Parkview Community in Wayland will host “Farm Succession: A Family Matter” on November 14.
•General Business students at WACO made and sold Bruffins (a brownie baked in a muffin pan) as a small business project.
•Wayland Fire and Rescue responded to a grass fire on Hwy. 78 on October 211 and a car accident on Fern Cliff Road on October 27.
