•WACO’s bob Hilmer received the second highest number of votes in Region 5 voting for the USA Today High School Sports’ Best Coach in American contest. He moved to the regional round after he was voted the Best Boys’ Basketball Coach in Iowa.
•Leroy Meyer received the Cattleman of the Year award at the Henry County Cattlemen’s Association annual banquet.
