•WACO Jr. and Sr. High School students and staff spent three hours packaging 54,000 meals for Kids Against Hunger in collaboration with On His Path.
2009
•Forty members of the WACO Community High School Class of 2009 will participate in the graduation ceremonies on May 24. Keynote speaker will be Mr. Rick Moorman. Student speakers will be Colin Shepherd, Allison Martin, and Rebekah Kennelly.
•Keaton Krueger received a scholarship at the Iowa Crop Improvement Association’s annual banquet in February. He is currently conducting research with Seed Science Center Assistant Professor Susana Goggi and will begin coursework towards a master’s degree at Iowa State in the fall.

•Lynn and Lorie Eichelberger are the proud parents of a baby girl. Kate Lauren was born April 26, 2004.
•Bethany Avalin Grothe and Andrew Michael Grieser announce their engagement and upcoming Sept. 25 wedding.

•Rex McGuire was named Wayland Fire Department’s “1998 Fireman of the Year.” Retirees Sid Brooks (30 years) and Kenneth Miller (31 years) were recognized.

•Anna Farmer will celebrate her 90th birthday May 22 with a card shower.
•David S. Coberley has graduated from a helicopter repair course at Fort Eustis, Newport News, Virginia.

•John and Tina (Hartzler) Ulrich are parents to a daughter. Maria Frances was born May 9.
•Rex and Betty Severt observed their 50th wedding anniversary.

•Jan Boshart received a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology on May 11 from Northeast Missouri State University.
•Selina Zieglowsky will celebrate her 89th birthday.
