Dave and Nancy Eichelberger were the 2014 Grand Marshals for the Wayland Fourth of July parade.
Ron Roth, Wayland police chief, celebrated 35 years in law enforcement on July 2, 2014. He worked 19 years in East Dubuque, several years in the United Nations, and has been in Wayland since 2002.
Abigail Roth has graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Management: Human Resources.

WACO pitcher Angela Davis struck out 11 WMU batters while giving up only one hit and one walk to lead the Warriors to a 6-0 victory in the regional quarterfinal game on July 10.

William G. Brooks is retiring after 30 years as the Wayland Marshal. Dennis Walker has been employed as police chief, taking the position July 1.
Kathy Davis and Brian Shelman have announced their upcoming Aug. 11 wedding.
Jerry and Julie Gilmere are the parents of a new daughter. Adrienne Leigh was born June 22.
