2009

Josh and Erika Stauffer celebrated the birth of their son, Lane Joshua, on August 10. Lane was welcomed home by his siblings, Page and Gavin Holmes. Area grandparents are Jim and Gina Stauffer of Wayland.

Don and Mary Rich and Joan Rogers met with their daughter and sister, Sandy and husband Jim Hasler in Kearny, Nebraska for the weekend of August 21-23.

Visitors in the Laverne and Judy Hueholt home over the weekend were Teresa and Rod Dowd of Perry, Iowa, and Jo and Jim Weedon of Falls Church, Virginia.

Jonah Robert Clark was born August 5, 2004, to Joni Clark. Grandparents are John and Sandie Clark.

Tim Meyer was second-runner up at the Iowa Championship Auctioneers contest on August 17 at the Iowa State Fair.

The Wayland Lions Club assisted the City of Wayland with the pavilion at East Park.

1999

Heath Boone won Champion Market Pen of Three with his turkeys in the Poultry Division at the Iowa State Fair.

Lisa Kay Sonius and Jeffrey Henss Meyer were married April 17, 1999, at West Des Moines.

1994

Harold and Helen Lynn to celebrate their 45th wedding anniversary with an open house Sept. 11 at the Wayland Community Building.

Lorie Schmidt and Lynn Eichelberger were married July 30 at Hoffnungsau Mennonite Church in Inman, Kansas.

Rachel Sue was born August 20 to Matt and Angela Burkhardt of Aurora, Indiana. Edith Hileman is Rachel’s great-grandmother.

John Swartzendruber was named Champion Auctioneer at the Iowa State Fair on August 22.

WACO enrollment totals 530 with 204 in the high school, 306 in grades K-6, and 20 in special education.

Tricia Brooks and Ken Stirm have announced their engagement and upcoming October 21 wedding.
