2014
WACO homecoming royalty for 2014 is Kaylie Horak, daughter of CJ and Sherri Horak of Crawfordsville, and Tucker Janecek, son of Sheri Janecek and Mark Janecek of Wayland.
Andrew Leichty was awarded Project Manager of the Year by the Program and Project Management Community of Practice at the U.S. Army Corp National Award Ceremony in Fort Belvoir, Virginia on Aug. 7, 2014. Leichty is the son of Rich and Barb Leichty of Wayland, and is a member of the Rock Island District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
Clarence Wenger of Wayland will be celebrating his 90th birthday on Oct. 10. His family hosted a card shower for him.
2009
Parkview Home hosted a party for Eric Hultquist on Sept. 21, 2009. In July Eric was inducted into the Iowa high School Athletic Softball Umpires Hall of Fame. Eric spent approximately 30 years umpiring baseball, football, basketball, and softball games.
Army Pfc. Kole R. Hudson has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, South Carolina. Hudson is the son of Jackie and Greg Morrow of Wayland and a 2004 graduate of WACO.
2004
Dinner guests in the Don Boshart home were Mark, Linda and Amy Boshart; Randy, Jan, Brittany and Makenzie Shelman; Paul, Annette (Boshart) Von Tersch; and Jenae Boshart. They were celebrating Don’s 70th birthday.
1999
Tim and Laura Yoder of Wayland are the parents of twins born Sept. 11, 1999. Kallie Jean weighed three pounds 13-1/2 ounces, and her brother Kelby Lee weighed four pounds eight ounces.
On Aug. 29, Pat and Lowell Stacy of Wayland were honored for their 40th wedding anniversary with a barbecue pork dinner at Crooked Creek Christian Camp.
Lois Graber recently traveled to Cape Cod, Massachusetts with her son, Dr. John Graber of Seattle, Washington.
1994
LeAnn Brockway and children have concluded a visit at the Don Brockway home during the time moving plans were completed from Fort Hood, Texas to Brooklyn Park, Minnesota. LeAnn’s husband, Major Charles Brockway, has been transferred from the U.S. Army from Texas to Minnesota.
Truman and Edna Beckler have returned home from an extended vacation visit in Idaho with daughters, Mary and Roger Stutzman at Buhl, and Elaine and Gordon Stutzman at Filer.
Brandon Hinkle celebrated his first birthday at the home of his grandparents, Lloyd and Imogene Hinkle, on Sept. 10. Twenty-four relatives and friends enjoyed the evening with Brandon.
Vivian Hildebrand has returned home from Ohio where she had spent a week in the home of daughter Judy and Dr. Paul Birney Oberlin.
