WACO High School football team will face North Tama in the quarterfinals at the UNI-Dome. WACO is 8-3, while North Tama is 11-0.

Clarissa Rugg, fourth-grader at WACO, was given a medal at the University of Iowa Belin Blank Center Award Ceremony on Oct. 23. She was the regional winner in West Burlington and then the state winner in Iowa City.

Jeffrey and Teresa (Bachman) Smith of Hills are the parents of a new baby boy. Zachary Ryan was born Nov. 4.
WACO Junior High School vocalists, Steve Wilsom, Eric Palmer, Rachel Graber, and Aaron Lehman were selected to perform in the 1994 Opus Honor Choir.
Albert “Ab” Allen, age 79, died Nov. 5.

David and Becky Warren are the parents of a baby girl, Hannah Elizabeth, born Oct. 23.
Lucille G. Brenneman, age 58, died Oct. 31 at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City.

John Widmer, age 24, of Wayland, was injured in an accident south of Noble.
Geraldine Richenberer, age 56, of Wayland, escaped injury when her vehicle left the road and went into the ditch south of Trenton on W-55.
Marva Lou Crowl, age 33, of Wayland, escaped injury when her car struck a deer on W-55 north of Mt. Pleasant.

Prize winners at Ed’s Super Value Grand Opening were Loren Rich, Elizabeth Troutman, Mary Schlatter, John Unternather, Fran Bean, Hattie Nebel, Lorene Meyer, Janet Peterson, Rex McGuire. Approximately 400 registered.
J. Lawrence Henss, executive vice president of Wayland State Bank, has announced plans to retire Jan. 1, 1975. He has been employed by the bank since 1941.
