2014

Carol Turner of Wayland has published a children’s tale written by her mother, Eunice Dill, titled The Little Lost Snowflake. The Book features beautiful illustrations, created by another Wayland resident, Christine Graber.

2009

Dan Rumachik graduated basic training class at Iowa Law Enforcement class in Johnston, Iowa. He is an officer with the Wayland Police Department.

Ray Wyse and Donna Dunnette have announced their engagement and upcoming April 2010, plans in Cardigan, Wales.

April Garton and Brad Eichelberger have announced their engagement and upcoming Jan. 8, 2010, wedding at Sugar Creek Mennonite Church.

Kenneth Miller was presented with the LeRoy Meyer Memorial Award for outstanding service to one’s community.

The children and grandchildren of Ralph Gibson celebrated an early Christmas on Nov. 27.

Leah (Graber) Eichelberger Bachman, age 102, formally of Wayland, died Dec. 3.

1999

A car spun out of control on a snow-covered road and slid into a WACO school bus on Dec. 11.

Jay and Audrey Finke were honored for their 40th wedding anniversary.

Lori Lynn Roth and Thomas Eldon Yousey have announced their engagement.

Greg and Melinda Gowey are the parents of a baby boy. Alexander Joseph was born Dec. 5, 1999.

1994

Marie Gonzalez Guillen, age 40, of Wayland, died at the scene of a single vehicle accident at the Crooked Creek Bridge north of Wayland. Her husband suffered injuries when the vehicle lost control on an icy bridge and flipped onto its top.

Storms brought heavy ice to the Wayland area on Dec. 6, doing a lot of damage to trees in Wayland and Winfield.

Daine L. Bernius, age 40, died Dec. 7 at her Columbus Junction home.

Dr. Keith and Leslie Reschly, of Southport, North Carolina, are parents of a baby boy. Nicholas Merrick was born Dec. 6.

1989

Janice Lynn Hershberger and Rodney Ray Wenger were married Nov. 24 at the Wellman Mennonite Church.

Mr. and Mrs. Paul Oswald were honored for their 40th wedding anniversary.

1984

Rev. Robert Wolf brought his first message as pastor of the Independent Bible Church in Wayland on Dec. 9, moving to Wayland from Lockridge. Rev. Wolf also teaches creative writing and speech at Suburban Heights Baptist Church Christian School in Fairfield.

Jim and Dorothy Miller of Brighton celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary on Dec. 5.

Bruce and Jo Eichelberger are parents of a girl. Lindsay Kate was born Dec. 5, 1984.

Doug and Donette Billingsley are parents of a boy. Michael Douglas was born Nov. 23, 1984.

Jeff and Karla Garett are parents of a son. Jordan Michael was born Dec. 8, 1984.
