Peggy Johanson and Kevin Tutt were married Dec. 11, 1999.
Jeff and Lisa Meyer are the parents of a baby boy. Ethan John was born Jan. 7, 2000.
Timothy and Susy Fischer are the parents of a baby boy. Bennett Timothy was born Jan. 1, 2000.
1995
Steve Young, formerly of Wayland, succumbed to an asthma attack over Christmas holidays. Steve, in his early 30s, is the son of Phyllis Crone Young Scott.
Gary and Shelli Brose are the parents of the New Year Baby. Their son, Colin Stephen, was born Jan. 5, 1995. Mrs. Brose also underwent an emergency appendectomy.
David Griffith, age 74, died Jan. 9 at Washington County Hospital.

Colleen May Huedepohl and Michael James Conrad have announced their engagement and upcoming March 24, 1990 wedding.
Kelly Overton has been named as the Administrator of Parkview Home. Duane Alliman has retired, effective Jan. 22, after 20 years at this position.
Scott Allen Swan, 1981 graduate of WACO and 1986 graduate of the University of Iowa, received a NASA Tech Brief and a Patent Application Award at Johnson Space Center, Houston, Texas.

David Miller and Brad Shelman received their Eagle Scout Awards at a ceremony.
Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Wenger were honored for their Dec. 25, 40th wedding anniversary, at a Dec. 22 dinner in Wapello.
Mr. and Mrs. Larry Rich are the parents of a baby boy. Brandon Lee was born Jan. 1, 1985.
Mr. and Mrs. Karl Hudson are the parents of a baby boy. Kanen Timothy was born Dec. 29, 1984.

Randy and Laura (Rich) Messer are the parents of the first baby of 1980. Jeremiah Jonathan Messer was born Jan. 1, 1980.

Glen M. Nihart, age 78, died at his home Jan. 2, and his wife, Maude Alma Nihart, age 78, died Jan. 3, both from apparent coronary attacks.
Dick Schlatter escaped serious injury when he became pinned between the wrecker he was using to pull Burdean B. Graber’s car from the ditch.
