SIGOURNEY — Keokuk County 4-H brought the energy and excitement to the Washington YMCA on Friday, Feb. 28, for its annual Keokuk County 4-H Lock-In, hosted by the Keokuk County 4-H Youth County Council. This fun-filled evening drew 70 4-H members and featured a wide range of activities — from basketball and volleyball to swimming, table games, dodgeball, and more.
The event ran from 6 p.m. to midnight, creating the perfect setting for members of all ages to connect, play, and make lasting memories. Youth also enjoyed pizza, drinks, and snacks generously provided by the Keokuk County 4-H Youth County Council.
“This was our first year moving our annual Lock-In to the Washington YMCA, and it was a huge success!” said Ashley Yedlik, Keokuk County Youth Coordinator. “This county-wide event is super fun as we see members from all across the county and all ages come together for an exciting evening where many memories are made.”
A special thank-you goes out to the 18 volunteers who helped make the night possible. From chaperoning to organizing activities and helping with food, these dedicated individuals ensured the evening ran smoothly and safely for all participants.
Keokuk County 4-H continues to provide engaging opportunities for youth to grow as leaders, build friendships, and have fun — all while promoting the core values of 4-H: head, heart, hands, and health.
