To the editor:
As we draw closer to the elections, many people are very concerned with the condition of our country ? the economy, the unemployment numbers, increased government control ? the list goes on. We are told that the economy is on the rebound, but it?s difficult to find evidence of that. We have seen reports of unemployment rates going down, but many of our friends and family members are still looking for work, or have settled for a job with inadequate pay just to make ends meet. We regularly hear about tighter government regulations or new laws that restrict us more. The number of people on government assistance is rising by leaps and bounds. We pay for the education and health care of non-citizens. Our governing officials believe that government has to grow to accommodate new programs and services.
Our system of education has changed so much over the years. It is no longer enough to simply teach the 3 ?Rs? ? reading, writing and arithmetic. Our children are now taught about alternatives to the traditions that we have long held dear. Many children no longer have the privilege of reciting our nation?s Pledge of Allegiance and don?t know the words to our National Anthem. They don?t know the sacrifices that have been made to provide the freedoms with which they are blessed. They are told that they cannot pray or read a Bible in school and are not allowed to mention God ? except as a curse word. We are fortunate to live in a rural area where some teachers still hold fast to traditional teachings and beliefs.
Our national media glorifies immorality and violence. Video games teach our children they must succeed at any cost. Sitcoms show broken families as the norm and husbands are no longer portrayed as the leader of the family. Nearly every week, we hear about children who are reported missing and often find out that a parent was responsible.
As we approach the 2012 election, many wonder how our nation got to this point. At times it seems hopeless. But these changes haven?t happened overnight. This has been a long, strategically planned process. Decades ago, a blueprint was developed and the framework was laid step by step. The agenda to grind America down has been at work since the early twentieth century.
If you are interested in knowing more about this plan, please attend a viewing of ?Agenda: Grinding America Down? to be held Friday, September 28 at 6:30 PM in the lower level Community Room of First National Bank, 100 E. Burlington Street in Fairfield. You may be shocked at what you hear in this documentary by former Idaho Representative Curtis Bowers. He spent years researching this blueprint and desired to share his findings with others. Former Iowa Representative Danny Carroll will be on hand to introduce ?Agenda? and facilitate a discussion following the presentation. This program is free and open to the public.
