Blank Park Zoo visits library
Emily Parker, interactive educator at Blank Park Zoo, shows a group of more than 200 people exotic animals Tuesday afternoon at Fairfield Public Library. Children's librarian Afton Pedrick said 155 kids and 91 adults attended, which she said was many more than attended last year's program. Pedrick has been the children's librarian since 2014, and has hosted Blank Park Zoo every year. 'I think it's our most popular program. A lot of people come out,” she said.

She said the kids seemed comfortable around all the animals, but some adults were turned off by the rat.
