Bonaparte to host children’s dinner theater

Enjoy a fun family activity this coming Saturday night, December 18th, in the former Bonaparte school building gymnasium at 602 8th St. in Bonaparte. The Bonaparte Public Library Board is hosting its first ever children's dinner theater titled “Goldilocks on Trial.”

The play is written by Ed Monk, produced by special arrangement with Play Scripts, Inc., and directed by Lucy Elliott. The student actors are from Van Buren County Community Schools. Some of the student actors have performed with the Van Buren County Players.

Goldilocks is on trial for breaking and entering. Will she be found guilty and sent to prison, or will the truth come out? It's up to Judge Wallabee and some very silly jurors to decide, after hearing testimony from Goldee, the bickering Three Bears and surprise witness Merwin the Big Bad Wolf, among others.

Tickets include the play with a meal that is kid and adult friendly. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. with the meal served at 6 p.m. The play will begin at 7 p.m. To get tickets, call: 319-592-3677 or 319-931-1397.
