How will your high school experiences help you in coming years? My high school experiences will help me to become a better leader in my workplace. I have had many leadership roles and opportunities within my school that have helped me develop as a person.
Fondest memory of high school? My fondest memory of high school would have to be homecoming weeks or memories while playing sports. Homecoming week is always my favorite week of the year and I love all the activities. I have also created a lot of memories through sports with my teammates.
Which teachers have had the biggest impact on you and why? The teachers that have had the most impact on me would be Mr. Jones and my third grade teacher Mrs. Bunker. Mr. Jones is the art teacher in my high school. I have only taken one art class in high school, however he has had a great impact on me in other ways. He is the sponsor for the art club and attends FCA with me in the mornings. He is very kind and always helps me see new perspectives. He inspires me to be kind and compassionate while also helping me in my faith. Mrs. Bunker was a big influence on my elementary years. Even when I wasn’t in her class Mrs. Bunker was constantly a friendly face and someone I could talk to no matter what.
Who is your role model and how did they influence you? My role model is my sister. She has influenced me in almost every aspect of my life. She has had the biggest impact on my academics. She is the most driven and hard working person that I know. She inspires me to be a good student and work hard in school. She currently attends the University of Iowa and is studying biomedical engineering.
What is special about your high school? I think my high school is special because everyone knows each other. In a way it kind of feels like a family. Most of the teachers are kind and genuinely care about the success of the students. We also have a great community supporting the school district.
If you go back to when you were a freshman, what advice would you give yourself? I would tell myself to explore new activities and to become friends with everyone that you can.
