Carnegie Historical Museum Board meets

The Carnegie Historical Museum Board met in the Carnegie Museum meeting room July 28, 2022 with Mark Shafer, Joe Hunt, Therese Cummiskey, Kathy Tollenaere, Gloria Countryman, Lawrence Eyre, John Morrissey, Sheri Blough Neff and David Neff in attendance.
Mark Shafer gave his Director Report with the special projects he has completed this month. Joe Hunt shared the treasurers report. Therese Cummiskey told of an afternoon of VILLAGE LIFE, with Corn Husk Dolls, face paint and grinding corn a part of the Visit Fairfield’s Family Road Trip. Dave Neff told of the August Heritage Farm display and plans reaching out into 2023 for future displays.
Gloria Countryman reported on the Fairfield Area Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours successful open house with close to 200 visitors at the museum. She also shared the meeting with contractors regarding the foundation project on the SW corner foundation of the Carnegie Building. Kathy Tollenaere told about the Lunch and Learn program and future displays of Jefferson County Farms and Cemeteries.
The next “Lunch and Learn” program for volunteers and members will be held Friday, Aug. 26, 2022 from noon to 1 p.m. Bring Your Own Lunch to the second floor of the Museum. The topic will be Mehitable Woods; local heroine, especially during the Civil War days. If you would like to become a volunteer or member visit the museum office at 112 South Court Street to obtain the appropriate form to complete and return.
The next meeting of the Museum board will be on Aug. 25, 2022 at the meeting room in the Carnegie Historical Museum.
