Jun. 10, 2022 4:36 pm
Joe and Alice Hochstetler spent the weekend in Indiana visiting with their children and attending the graduation of Noah Hochstetler from Fairfield High School in Goshen, Indiana. A reception was held later at a venue near Bristol, Michigan.
Noah is the son of J.B. and Carla Hochestler of Syracuse, Indiana, and has siblings, Greta and Mussie. Also present were Tim and Kim Hochstetler, Alena, Bennett and Corina, Matt and Ilona Roberts and Grady and Lara Hochstetler.
Grandma Alice took her donut machine along, as Noah requested donuts instead of cake. He, along with five other classmates, had their party together. Alice estimates she made approximately 72 dozen donuts.
White Cloud Club
Members of the White Cloud Club met at the home of Betty Lintz for a delicious breakfast prepared by the hostess. The breakfast was enjoyed by Carrie Coble, Pat Miller, Margaret Patterson and the hostess.
Vice President Pat Miller opened the meeting with a reading "Planting and Reaping" from the book Tea Time with God. It was a great reminder of the process of tending a garden, the rewards of produce and the application in life with friends and neighbors.
Roll call was answered by telling if each day is started by setting an alarm or awakening on their own. Members admitted that days when an alarm is not needed is a start to a good day.
Betty read the Secretary and Treasurer's report from the May meeting. There was no old business.
New Business included setting the date of July 5, 2022 for the next meeting. The group will meet at the Pizza Ranch at 11:30 a.m. Betty will be the hostess.Possible local places of interest were discussed as locations to visit for the annual club tour. A get well card was signed by everyone to send to a member recently hospitalized.
Pat closed the meeting by thanking Betty for hostessing and for the gift of a decorator coaster for each. Members were reminded to be sure and vote! Upcoming holidays were mentioned including Flag Day and Independence Day! As members departed they stepped to the homes' balcony where they could enjoy the view of the pond and wildlife activity, as well as beautiful flowers and vegetable gardens.
