Creative Escape Mentorship now accepting applications

Villages Folk School of Van Buren County is now accepting applications for its Creative Escape Mentorship (May 13-27) with pottery instructor Betty Printy at her private studio in the Bentonsport Historic District.

This two-week mentorship program brings skilled folk school instructors together with emerging artists for a hands-on learning experience. Participants can expect to learn new techniques, identify and expand on their inner creative voice, and experience first-hand the importance of the artisan in village life.

The selected participant for this year’s mentorship will receive lodging, instruction, and materials at no cost to them. Applicants must be 21 years or older, have experience throwing pottery on the wheel, have experience glazing and firing pottery, and have reliable transportation.
