FAIRFIELD — The Fairfield Elks Lodge awarded the Fairfield Area Soccer Association a $3500 Community Investment Project Grant. The Grant will help cover the expense of replacing current goals with U12 sized movable goals.
Having movable goals creates several positive opportunities coaches, volunteers and overall field management. Movable goals give coaches greater flexibility to easily adjust field sizes to match different drills, age groups and practice needs.
FASA is an established 501 c(3) organization. Last spring and fall over 300 youths ages 5-19 participated in the program.
This project was made possible by a grant from the Elks National Foundation, the charitable arm of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks. Through its Community Investments Program, the Elks National Foundation awards grants to local Elks Lodges to help the Elks strengthen their communities. This year, the Elks National Foundation will award $6.5 million in grants to benefit Elks communities.
