The Fairfield Art Association has announced its 15th annual downtown summer art Installation titled "LIGHTEN UP."
Artists, creative adult individuals or groups are invited to participate in making unique works for the garden nodes around three sides of the square and up Main Street to the Fairfield Arts & Convention Center. This public exhibit opens June 7 during Fairfield First Fridays Art Walk, so entries must be completed prior to that date.
Project Guidelines include maximum height and width of 24", being weatherproof and construction sturdy, using the FAA's provided wooden base that attaches to our steel poles. Additional details to participate, materials list and instructions to use our "surprise element," are all included in our Guideline Handout available at the FAA Studio in the FACC, open Tuesday through Friday from 1-5 p.m. For more information, email Suzan Kessel at suzan1252@aol.com.
It is recommended participants sign up or let us know early as only 18 spots are available. The downtown exhibit promises to be an unusual one, and will end the evening of the September Art Walk with a Silent Auction of entries. Proceeds will be split between the artist and FAA. A vote for favorite will take place in August.
