Join the Fairfield Area Chamber of Commerce for its 3rd Annual BAFLTAFR on Saturday, Aug. 13 beginning at Chautauqua Park. Bike Around the Fairfield Loop Trail Annual Fun Ride, or BAFLTAFR for short, is a great family friendly event. Grab your family and friends for a fun day around the loop trail, and don’t forget your bike.
Just like the concept of a walking tour, we will take you on a biking adventure on the trails unlike any you have done before. We will have short informational stops along our 15.9 mile Loop Trail. Come explore the many microenvironments as you roll through gently sloping hills, conifer forests, wetlands, cornfields, creeks, lakes and deciduous forests. At each juncture, meet a knowledgeable guide who will tell you something about the local nature or community you didn’t already know!
“Quality family time is important! This event allows the family to get out and enjoying each other’s company,” said Mendy McAdams, Fairfield Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director. “With school right around the corner, family schedules will soon start filling with all things school, sports, art, etc. There’s nothing better than getting to hang out together as a family, away from all those daily distractions like work and screens. Take an adventure together on the trails.”
There will be snacks and water along the route along with SAG support if you need it. All paying participants will receive $10 in Chamber Bucks to support our local businesses. There will also be swag bags given to each rider at registration. The folks at the Maasdam Barns (which is along the trail) will have the Barns open for tours and will have horses at the barns.
We want all participants to have a fun and safe adventure on the trail. We look forward to spending time with you on the loop trail!
