The Fairfield Cultural Alliance has been working on a sign project researched and proposed by the Fairfield Volunteer Center that encourages park-goers to use trash cans for litter. They have called it the Clean Parks Project.
Local artists sent in designs per their specifications early this year. Designs from 5 artists were chosen by a local committee of art and community lovers, and sent to the sign-maker. The artists include: Hannah Applegate, Ethan Hsai, David Kraemer, John Schirmer and Mia Story.
11 generous donors sponsored the sign production.
These sponsors include: Habitat for Humanity ReStore, Fairfield Cultural Alliance, Everybody's Whole Foods, Midwest One Bank, Americus Diamond, our local HyVee, Iowa State Bank, Miller Realty, Libertyville Savings Bank, Smithburg Auto, T-Mobile and Breadtopia Bakehouse.
These signs have now arrived in Fairfield to be installed by our great local Parks & Rec Dept. and the designers will be honored at 1 p.m. this Friday, Aug. 5 at Fairfield Food Collective; 400 N. 2nd St. (home of Taco Dreams and Breadtopia Bakehouse). The signs will be on display at this time as well.
All interested are welcome to come.
